"Belt & Road": The Way Forward
The vision of China's Belt & Road initiative, in my view, is to achieve a common goal of having better economic development in the regions, areas or territories along the Belt and Road, despite civil, political, social and cultural differences. Having set the trend, China communicates the strategy, gives policy support and aligns conflicting values. The way forward to realize the potential is to build the capability and to have more early success stories.
The value proposition of China's Belt & Road mega business model, in my view, is to invite any interested public and private institutions and their actors to get connected (eg becoming key partners and pooling key assets) and to engage in economic activities to advance mutual benefits. Such economic activities may range from the tangible (such as infrastructural development) to the intangible (such as trading of intellectual property that does the technology transfer). Deploying the value-driven cost structure approach should generate revenue streams within a reasonable time.
In my view, ethical governance and professional execution are necessary for longer-term strategic partnerships and customer relations. I am committed to optimizing my knowledge and experience in playing my due role in key activities on creativity, branding and intellectual property fronts. With a view to capitalizing on the trend, I would excite and delight myself by removing obstacles and minimizing risks on my way forward to the Belt and Road!
