World Intellectual Property Day

April 26 is the World Intellectual Property Day. China initiated it at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) back in 1999. From 1997 to 2013, I was a delegate of the Chinese delegation in WIPO's General Assemblies.

On the World Intellectual Property Day 2017, I actively participated in a promotional event organized by the generic top level domain name registry ie ". trademark (in simplified Chinese characters)". I believe the registry offers value propositions that should enable businesses to get, keep and grow customers in the China market. I am a co-chair of a high-powered "Policy Committee", with the goal to interface the trademark and domain name systems.

In communication, the challenge is to make the complex simple, as there is no communication if the message is not understood. A complementary way is to use audio-visual marks to raise stakeholders' curiosity. I created, produced and published three sound marks, highlighting the distinctive effect of the registry.

Visionary entrepreneurs identify trends. In order to make the pie bigger, there is a need to enable others to recognize them and to form a coalition. Through value alignment, enhanced capacity and support, all could capitalize on the trends!
